I love your illustration, but I'm confused. You are not the only person to show contain like content. Is it the same? Pardon my ignorance. Again, you have a wonderful talent.
The confusion of "content" and "contain" is very interesting--when I saw this illustration I thought of "self-containment" so I thought it was quiet clever--but after Katie's post I looked at the root of the words and both are past participle of Latin continre, to contain.......
An english teacher friend of mine told me that contained has a second meaning - it is when you contain lots of good feelings, so it is similar to contented. It was new to me.
Your illustrations have such feeling to them. I really like this little old man and his dog. Great illo. Content or contained the whole piece works so wonderfully!
